Women's Bible Study

This study is designed to enable each person to learn more about who our Savior is, to love Him more deeply by studying His story, and to meet His friends, His disciples, and His enemies. The focus of this study is twofold: to know and love His words with a greater depth of understanding, and to hope each participant finds a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through this study titled, “Vignettes from the Book of John.”

John’s Gospel is a magnificent, divinely inspired powerhouse of scriptures written by a man who walked with Jesus, talked with Him, watched Him perform almost unbelievable miracles, stood at the foot of His cross, entered the empty tomb, and seeing the grave cloths lying on the stone plinth, believed in a risen Savor. Because of this intimacy between John and Jesus, we are privileged to see and study this uniquely defined and yet divine, incarnate Jesus while examining this Gospel.

The class will look at the following three-word markers from John: Witness, Light, and Dark as viewed from selected scriptures from this fourth book in the New Testament. We will examine John’s use of “The Word” from his Prologue that puts Jesus with God from the beginning and extending across the forever of time. The last four class sessions are character studies that include John the Baptist; Simon Peter; the servants at the wedding feast in Cana; and closing with Nathanael, the Pharisees, and Thomas.
