Our Services

Worship plays a central role in the life of the church. Two worship services, each with a distinctive quality, unfold on Sunday. On Wednesday evening, the church gathers for praise, prayer, and pastor-led Bible Study.

On Sunday morning, worshipers take part in a service that combines music, prayer, the reading of Scriptures, preaching, and other acts of worship. Worship is highly participatory, with men and women serving as worship leaders with the pastor.

The Sanctuary Choir, ensembles, soloists, and gifted accompanists encourage and lead vibrant and inspirational worship. Worship contains a blend of music styles. Men and women from many backgrounds and worship styles discover a combination of familiar and new in the time of worship.

The Bible stands at the center of worship. Worshipers are invited to read the Scriptures and the pastor brings the truth of the Bible into contact with the everyday lives of people.

A different feel marks Sunday evening worship. Biblical exposition is primary and some special music features add to the service.

Regular observance of the Lord's Supper enriches worship. Once each month, the church gathers at the Table of the Lord. During the months of October through April, the church gathers in the Sanctuary on Sunday morning, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve. During May through September, the church alternates the Lord's Supper between the Sanctuary and the Christian Life Center.

Two special times highlight the worship life of the church: the Thursday night before Easter - traditionally called "Maundy Thursday" - and Christmas Eve.

Wednesday evenings add a different opportunity for worship. The service is conducted in the Christian Life Center with a time of intercessory prayer, opportunity for praise and testimony, and verse-by-verse Bible Study conducted by the pastor.

Our church takes seriously the words of the psalmist:

"Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." (Psalm 100:2, 4) The worship of the church invites people into the presence of God. And it sends them forth with the assurance of God's care and the challenge of God's service in the routines of daily living.
