How to become a Member of Our Church
We are eager to have you join the
family of First Baptist Church,
Sun City West as a member.
Family is an important word in
the description of this relationship.
A person can become a member
by making a public profession of
faith in Jesus Christ and being
baptized by immersion. In addition
to making a public profession of
faith, some people join by moving
their membership from a church
of like faith and order. For
example, a person will indicate
that they are a member of another
church and we will request a letter
of transfer from that church. It is
also possible to become a
member by statement. A person
simply has to affirm that they have trusted Jesus Christ as savior and have been baptized. We encourage individuals to make their desires known at the end of our service on Sunday morning. Every person desiring to become a member is presented to the congregation.
Some people indicate a desire to identify with FBC, SCW and still retain membership in another church. This is particularly true of people who spend part time in this area and part time in another area. We encourage people to present themselves under our “Watchcare” membership. That means that you are identified as belonging to our church as a kind of associate member. Watchcare members have all the privileges of membership except for the privilege of voting and participating on certain administrative committees.
